🥚 The Goose with the Golden Eggs

A farmer and his wife had a wonderful goose. Every morning, she laid one shining golden egg.

One egg every day! The farmer sold the eggs, and slowly the poor family became rich.

But soon, one egg a day did not feel enough. The farmer became greedy. 'Why wait every morning?' he said. 'Inside her stomach, there must be a mountain of gold!'

His wife said, 'Let it be. One egg a day is a blessing.' But he did not listen.

He cut the goose open. And inside... there was nothing. No gold. No eggs. She was just like any other goose inside.

Now the goose was gone, and the golden eggs were gone forever. The farmer sat with empty hands and wet eyes.

Greed wanted everything today — and lost everything tomorrow.
