A thirsty ant went to the river to drink water. Suddenly, a strong wave came and carried her away. 'Help! Help!' the little ant cried.
A dove sitting on a tree saw the ant struggling in the water. She quickly dropped a leaf into the river.
The ant climbed onto the leaf. The leaf floated safely to the shore. The ant was saved! She looked up at the dove and said, 'Thank you, kind friend. I will not forget this.'
A few days later, a hunter came to the forest. He saw the dove and quietly aimed his net at her. The dove did not see him at all.
The ant saw the danger. She ran fast and bit the hunter's foot as hard as she could. 'Ouch!' the hunter jumped, and his net fell.
The noise warned the dove. She flew away, safe and free.
A tiny ant saved a big bird — because the bird had saved her first. Kindness is a circle. What you give comes back.
