A small boy went walking with his father in the mountains. Suddenly he fell, hurt his knee, and shouted in pain, 'Aaahh!'
To his surprise, he heard a voice from the mountain repeat, 'Aaahh!' He was amazed.
Curious, the boy shouted, 'Who are you?' The voice answered, 'Who are you?' He got angry and shouted, 'I hate you!' The mountain replied, 'I hate you!'
The boy looked at his father, confused. 'What is happening?'
The father smiled and shouted to the mountain, 'You are wonderful!' The voice answered, 'You are wonderful!' He shouted, 'I love you!' And the mountain said, 'I love you!'
The father sat beside his son and said, 'People call this an echo. But really, this is life.'
'Life gives you back everything you say and do to it. If you give anger, you receive anger. If you give love and respect, love and respect come back — maybe not today, but always, from somewhere.'
'Your life is not an accident, my son. It is a reflection of you.'
